Business Education Philosophy

The Wissahickon School District Business Education Department provides a high quality education program that integrates theory and practice through a combination of business and computer classes.

Courses are designed to develop personally useful business and computer skills.  While enabling students with the skills necessary to become a member of the work force, several of the course offerings will be especially beneficial for those students who plan to major in undergraduate business administration programs.  Real-world, hands-on, problem-solving approaches as well as collaborative activities that foster effective teamwork and individual leadership skills are utilized throughout the program.  Students who enroll in the business curriculum are encouraged to become involved in Future Business Leaders of America (FBLA) an extra-curricular activity that offers students the opportunity to meet local business leaders which, in turn, heightens business career development.
