Students will sign up to demonstrate an appliance in class 
between April 22 and April 30.
Here are the requirements for the demonstration 
and report.

Market order for student demonstration must be 
handed in at least two days in advance 
of demonstration.

 

Appliance Report and Demonstration

1. Select a person to work with.

2. Choose a portable electric appliance.  
3. Prepare a written report and select a recipe 
	to demonstrate to the class.                      		
(Suggested appliances:  Slow cooker, blender, sandwich maker,crepe maker, 
waffle baker, pizzelle iron, deep-fat fryer, electric skillet, 
ice cream freezer, wok, super shooter, corn popper, steamer, etc.)

Include in your report:

What is it?

What is it used for?
Single or multiple uses?

What is it made of?

How is it put together?
Design or construction-- features to look for when buying this 
	appliance, including safety features.
Energy use.
Storage.
Ease of handling and cleaning.

How is it sold?
Cost range
Optional features.

How, exactly, should it be used?

How, exactly, should it be cared for?
Ease of cleaning
Number of removable parts
Dishwasher safe?
Immersible?

What does the manufacturer's warranty cover?

Prepare a study guide for the class to use during your 
	presentation.  
Include the recipe you are using.  
(No longer than one page; 
	hand in one day in advance for photocopying.)

Extra credit:  Include pictures of various models of the 
appliance; magazine or newspaper articles; or several 
recipes which illustrate a variety of uses for the appliance.
