Child Development & Parenting II

This course will be a continuation of Child Development and Parenting I. It also covers pregnancy, birth, characteristics of the newborn and intellectual, physical, social/emotional development of infants. Observation of children, planning, and participation in the W.E.L.L. program are requirements.

Careers in early childhood are explored. An optional parenting simulation activity with a computerized doll allows adolescents to experience the difficulties, inconveniences and realities of caring for an infant all day and night.

Prospective students should have completed Child Development and Parenting I with a "C" or better grade.
