African American, American Indian, Asian Pacific Islander American or Hispanic American students who are citizens of the United States can apply.  A GPA of 3.3, and enrolling into an accredited college or university as a freshman are two considerations for eligibility.

Students are required to work 15 hours a week for 40 weeks per year and have a cumulative high school GPA of 2.5 or higher.  The $1,000 awards are also based on financial need and community service.

Landmark is a two-week summer volunteer organization for high school students who are interested in helping with many different types of manual labor.  Students can clean trails, paint, or working with people who have special needs.
